My Invitation, Part 2

Here is another impression of the Clinton presidential rally in Charlotte on Monday night and comes to us from a woman who wants to be identified only as "a friend of the blog." Thanks to her for sharing.

Feelings about the Hillary Rally

More than anything else, I was impressed by:

* Hillary’s warmth, strength and resolve;
* The joy on her face and on Chelsea’s when they walked into the arena and saw thousands of supporters waving banners, chanting, beaming in her honor;
*Her intelligence, her bearing, her command of the issues;
*Her heartfelt comments to teachers and nurses who are endorsing her;
*Her promise to relieve student loans for those students who choose careers in community service (teachers, nurses….);
*Her compassion for veterans and her commitment to ensure the best of care for the wounded;
*Her abhorrence of foreclosures, especially those on many of the country’s military men and women;
*Her commitment to improving health care for the uninsured as well as for the insured that also are at times denied medical help;
*Her commitment to improve the medical services for those who suffer from mental illness;

I could go on with this list, but I’d just encourage people to check out her website for specifics.

The aura of the event last night [Monday night, now] reflected the best of America: people that were considerate of one another; people who were courteous; old, young, children, Latinos,
Blacks, Whites, handicapped – no rushing around, pushing in the lines. People streaming
into the aisles, people who had weathered severe weather (!) in ways that showed on their
faces. The event, and the glow that emanated from Hillary and Chelsea, mother and daughter, reminding me that: Yes, it is great to be an American.
And Senator Tubbs reminding us that: Yes, this is about race! The human race!
I feel more convinced than ever that Hillary will be a president that will bring honor and dignity back to the White House.
